Picked Up Another Colt..

Well I went up to Wades Guns in Washington State and must say they have one of the best selections of guns in the area. They have every optic and rifle I could think of....

It boiled down to another Colt LE 6940 or POF P415 16 inch carbine. So I bought the Colt and put the POF on layaway. They had a nice selection of Elcan Specters and I will be honest they weigh the same as the Trijicon Acog and IMO the quality and lens surpasses any Acog. I will not buy another Acog again after trying out the 1x-6x optic with Thermal Optics packages.

To date, I have still never looked through an Elcan. I really would like to get a SpecterDR 1x/4x.

You really have to check them out. I won't be going with an Acog probably ever again after looking at every Elcan. Don't get me wrong Acogs are great optics but for a little more money you can get into a Elcan and the quality is similar but the glass/lens and screen is better on the Elcan with all the settings and options they come with. The weight honestly that everyone on every site says is not true. I have heard people claim the Elcan is a pig and weighs to much to it makes the rifle over 10 pounds. This is just not true, probably because 9 times out of 10 the people have never actually handled or shot with them on an AR15 or other rifle.

How do you like the C-More? Is that the CTAC? I'm looking for a new red dot for my AR.

For me it's a matter of affording them. They're so expensive. However, I'm holding off for a bit with the magnified optics. Have too many red dots I need to buy.

Nice Colt, BTW.

I totally hear you on affording them. I am in the same boat sometimes. They are a good $400-$1000 more than the general 4x Acog line.

I hear you on red dots. I use to be a fan of the Eotech line and honestly a good solid Aimpoint, MARS, or top of the line C-more work just as good.

I just picked it up 2 days ago so have to get out and shoot with it to really get a good judgement on it. It is the CTAC.

Honestly it feels just like the MARS day/night reflex or Aimpoint with the red dot and all the settings. Its polymer so not heavy at all. These you can get from $380-$500. So in the same ranges as the Aimpoints and Eotechs. MARS is over $1000.

BTW I am selling it now since I got a deal on a tan Elcan Specter, which I have been waiting on forever. Its BNIB so I am letting it go for $320 cash. Never used.

My loss is your gain.

That VLTOR EMOD is going on my 11.5" build. I've never actually messed with one, but it seems like exactly what I'm looking for in a stock.

Nice. I like it better than any of the Magpul stocks I have owned. I had the Hk E1 and this has a better feel than that one too.

Take a look at the newer Hk E2 stock as well.

Now if only they didn't use ARMS mounts...
But that's a sweet rifle. An actual Noveske Diplomat, stamped correctly and everything.

True, however the Elcan looks like a clone in that pic. It could be an early model though. My Gen 3 looks a lot bulkier and is better made...

Finally got around to a picture of my Colt with Elcan...I have the killflash as well and the top mount for the Trijicon red dot or Docters optic but dont really need that since this is a 1x-4x...I also have a tactical light but not in this pic.

Nice Colt Endless, and question: do you work for DHS? I have a buddy who is getting on Uniformed Secret Service once his contract with the Army is up (he's an MP) and he loves the Colt- he has an old Bushmaster AR with a dated ACOG and says nothing bad about it- and he's had it for about 5 years now, he's proof that if you take care of it it should last forever. Also, where is the best place to buy bulk 5.56 without breaking the bank? And yes I want non-corrosive, brass casings, high quality powder ammo, not some cheap $3.99/box yugo that I get for my AK.

I used to run the emod I like it except for one thing, it would pull on my beard and get very annoying which is why I switched to a magpul ACS, no complaints yet.

oh and also one thing that the acs did improve was the battery storage, they put the caps at the end of the stock instead of in front by the receiver, in order for you to take whatever was stored in it you would have to fully extend the stock to get to it. but if you dont store anything in it, this may not bother you.

The ACS was the first Magpul stock I bought and the first to go. lol
I didnt like its fat appeal. Felt like I had a Jack in the Box Jumbo Jack against my cheek. LOL sorry had to say that.

But in all seriousness its an ok stock and you pointed out the battery thing which you are 100% correct. To me they are very similiar stocks. Hell, even the same price.
