Also, where is the best place to buy bulk 5.56 without breaking the bank? And yes I want non-corrosive, brass casings, high quality powder ammo, not some cheap $3.99/box yugo that I get for my AK.
I had an option to work for the USSS UD as well but didnt like the relocation from the WC to EC. Tell your friend congrats. The USSS is one of the best LE units in the country.

As for 5.56 I use PMC and have never had any issues with their .45ACP for my KRISS Super V or 5.56/.223 for my Colts/FN. Downside is they are $6 for a box of 20 and the X-tac is $8 a box. We are talking 55 grs FMJ-BT with the standard PMC Bronze and 62 grs Green Tip-LAP with the PMC Xtac.

Also, on a side note and you probably already know....

5.56 nato ammo should only be used in a rifle labled 5.56. DO NOT use it in a rifle labled .223.

Oh I'm aware of the .223 and 5.56, in fact that's one of the things I checked on with buying bulk online, some sites are nice enough to have warnings "If your weapon is labeled for .223 cartridges use .223 not 5.56mm NATO." How's the KRISS by the way, I've seen some pretty sweet videos of them, I just can't really justify buying one right now, although I do have a love for the MP-5 Navy, and may try to track down a pre-1986 FA with telescoping stock and Navy Issue trigger group, but last I saw they run about $7K.

I owned a couple KRISS Super V's since they came out. They are a great gun but honestly you need it in its SBR 5.5 inch barrel form and FA. The recoil is not that bad. More on the lines of a 22. The KRISS K-10 is coming out this holiday season and thats their latest and update version of the Super V.

Most days I don't have facial hair, but some days I do. I have been considering this issue, though. I may wind up going with the ACS for this reason. We'll see. I should be getting my NFA stamp pretty soon here within the 3-4 weeks, so I have some time to sort it out.

That's funny about the Elcan. We called the old Canadian Forces issued units the 'ElTrashCan', or often just the "I can't see shit" model. I use an Acog now, but haven't tried the new Elcan models. May have to check them out.

The acs will still do it occasionally but not nearly as bad.

You could just do what I do and throw a strip of duct tape on the stock.

Yeah the new 3rd generations are way ahead of your entry level Acog.
