The exhaust was cut before the second resonator. I have 2 10416 magnaflow mufflers 2.5 in and 2.5 out in place with 2.5 inch stainless steel mandrel bent tubing to the back.

Well, even if I leave the piping as is wrapped around the spare, I too will still have a true fully fuctional dual exhaust, just without mufflers ,
the spare pipe is not a dummy pipe like some people do.

nice, any pics up close of where the bumper and quarter come together?

Also, any thoughts on m3 quarters (for the additional flare) and meeting the lines of the Mtech II bumper? I would use an M3 bumper, but this project is on the wagon and it has a special bumper

M3 quarters would be perfect. Just for sh!ts and giggles I put the bracket on the existing bracket bolts that are on the body, when I slid the m3 bumper on the bumper sat about an inch away from the body.

Hence having to shave the bolts and remount the brackets with self tapping screws closer in the body.

Here are some side shots, the bumper still warps some, but best i could do for today

are you suggesting that if i install m3 bumper brackets (i am guessing the plastic ones the front of the bumper slides onto) and use my mtech ii bumper...that the bumper might or will sit out a little further?

that would help things a lot when trying to match the fenders to the bumper

I think the m3/Pre facelift/zhp's all use the same bumper brackets. Scott may be able to confirm this. But since mine is a facelifted non zhp I had to buy the brackets.

If you have the right brackets the mtech II will match up fine as is... It's the actual m3 bumper that messes everything up since it is wider and shorter than sedan bumpers.

Did I make any sense? Lol

If you have this bracket you will be fine, might just need to remount it given your custom fender work/widening

Actually the zhp's use the facelifted brackets but the m3 , prefacelifted cars and facelifted mtech 1 cars have the same brackets. The mtech 1 is a preface body kit that they put on the facelift car so it has preface brackets.

The reason all this modification is required is because the quarter panels on the m3 are wider so they can fit the wider wheel base hence the wider bumper. So by placing the brackets closer to the body it pulls the bumper in to match up with the narrower quarter panels of the sedan.

Cd330 rofl at the bumper shocks. Did u have on goggles and stuff? I didn't have a shirt on when I did it but I was wearing goggles and I got hydraulic fluid all over my chest lol. It was classic.

But it looks sexy as hell! Get that diffuser painted and route ur exhaust!
