Stock Sport Suspension Question?

I have an 03 330i with the sport package on it and I assume that means it's has the factory sport suspension. I am looking at some H&R lowering springs and 1) I am debating between sport or race springs but am wondering about the difference in how they will feel, 2) Since I have the factory sport suspension will I need new shocks/struts? Any insight on the difference in spring feel and whether I will need new shocks/struts is much appreciated.

From what I've read, if you get the H&R sport springs, new shocks and struts are recommended but not required. With the race springs they're pretty much required if you don't want them to blow out really fast. I just ordered the H&R Touring cup kit, so I should be able to tell you in a few weeks how different it feels from the factory sport suspension. For some reason the Touring cup kit uses sport springs and the Sport cup kit uses the race springs...

Shocks and springs MUST match the compression rates. Otherwise, you'll blow the shocks early.

BTW, whats wrong with factory sport suspension? You need a harsher ride?

Nothing is wrong with the factory sport suspension I just got new wheels and tires and there is a small gap that I am looking to close with drop springs.
