My Ride: 2002 BMW 325i Xi
First 325i XI 2002 ready for the challenge.

Well this forum is truly informative. Some more than others. Its easy to get confused if your coming in blind but I've bought and sold cars for a while but wasn't prepared for precision machine like this. I found this XI in craigslist, he was asking & $7,000 which I knew was steep for a car with $134,400 mi. I then inspected the vehicle from head to toe. I noticed no leaks, sligh vibration at the light, dirty air filter and minor body damage. To make the story short I chopped him down to $5,900. Today I swapped out the spark plugs, with
6 New BOSCH Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plugs plus air filter. I noticed an immediate change in performance, but vibration continues...which I know must be the mounts. I went with castrol high mileage fully syntec which I trusted because my friend has a mint 325i that purrs with a wopping 275k with the same setup. My delema was choice of lowering springs from what I read I am choosing H&R and my shocks seem crisp so i will keep those. I also bought 18x7 rims 225/45 tires. I'm still leary of the myth or truth about flushing the trans fluid which I asked a mechanic that has the same car, he cringed and said don't do it, your tranny will go! I feel the same about the diff fluid changes I just need a clear guide and final say, to follow for the tranny flush and the diff. Other thank that I'm exited and what I've read I can say boosted my confidence. I will post pics soon. Thanks to all.

Manual or auto? Also, putting H&R springs on stock shocks is going to blow them pretty quickly. In addition, H&R springs on an xi usually gets reviews for being too harsh. Research more on this before you pull the trigger. I would replace the diff fluid (front and back) as well as the transfer case fluid.

Its an automatic. Took a ride in my friends xi today. H&R were superb. I'm sold. I remember having eib on my sedan accord. and they bottomed out...I just didn't want this to be an issue again. Cool so the diff and transfer care...what type of oil is best and how much of it?

You gotta search for that one, pal. if it takes more than 3 minutes, you're doing it wrong.
