Contiextremecontact DW

Anyone currently driving on the Contiextremecontact DW summer tires? I have stock type 44 rims, so 225/45R17 size.

Two questions:

1) How are they? (My other choice is Michilin Pilot Sport 2, but the Contis seem to have better wet weather performance, and very close to the handling of the PS2)

2) On the Type 44 rims, are there other tire sizes that I can consider? Maybe a 235 size tire? I would want to stay with a square setup I think. (My alternative to getting a bit wider tire would be to stick with the stock size and get some spacers)

Thanks.

The Continental ExtremeContact DW is a pretty popular choice amongst our customers, and people generally have a pretty positive experience with them. I would say a 235/45/17 should also fit fine all around. It's within the manufacturer tolerances and I don't foresee you running into any rubbing issues at stock height.

I had a set installed last week. They seem great so far.

On my second set.

Great in the wet.

Decent price (when compared to PS 2's)

Very comfortable quiet ride

Good Dry traction (you'd be hard pressed to meet its limit on the street)

Overall graded A, with PS2 receiving an A+ and setting the bar.

In short, great buy!!!

Am I still eligible for the flip camera if one of the sets are on backorder?

Unfortunately Continental states that the tires must be purchased from 'in stock' inventory in order to qualify.
