Places not to use anti-seize
For any of you who over-think the whole "I live in the salt-belt and am going to have to replace my control arms every two years" thing, as I did, it's not a good idea to put anti-seize on the conical ends of any joint. I put it on EVERY joint, and after 4 alignments, rotating my tires, re-balancing them, re-torquing every bolt I touched, and a lot of frustration, I've finally tracked my steering shake down to the anti-seize on my tie rod ends.
So, anti-seize on threads = good thing
anti-seize on mating surfaces = terrible idea
