My Ride: 1999 e46 318i
wheel fitment

iv put e90 alloys on my 1999 e46 they fit but the front wheels handleing is all over the place having to fight it to keep in a straight line.they are 17 inch with 225 45 tyres on

You're probably experiencing what is often called "tramlining." Get your wheels aligned.

first check for tire pressure, balance, bends and treadwear.
sometimes a bad treadwear on tires can cause the pull.

depending on what you orig. had on the car, a bigger wider wheel/tire can accentuate a problem that was already present in your suspension or allignment that you didn't realize was there.


I have a e46 sedan with 18" sport wheels from e90 330 with no problems... also I put 12mm spacers in front & rear... still no problems.

Control arm bushings. Had the same issue on 18x8.5 up fronts. Replaced bushings and the wandering went away.
I kind of liked it though.
