My Ride: 2002 BMW 330Ci
Question M54B30 rebuild or build S52B32...?

i have a '02 330Ci. The M54 powerplant she has is getting high mileage cause i use her as a daily driver. But i recently got me another daily driver and im parking my sweetie in the garage lol Its gotten high mileage cause she has been a daily driver its almost 140,000 now i would like some other guys opinions on what to do... I debating on whether to buy this S52B32 i can get a hold of and build it on an engine stand.. or i could drop the M54 out and completely rebuild it... any suggestions on which would be best? which one i could get more N/A power out of? I thought of maybe boring and/or stroking the M54 but not sure... maybe later down the road i might s/c the motor to but I'd like to run it N/A for a long while first. So opinions on better bang for my buck, which motor would be better for the FI, and so on..

So you're going to put an S52B32 in your E46 330ci? Good luck. Also your reasons for wanting to rebuild your M54B30 is because it has 140,000 miles?

My Ride: 323i with S54
140 000 miles on M54 is nothing. Main problem is gaskets, they are junk and leak after about 5 years. Don't use gaskets on timing cover, oil pan, rear seal cover. Use ultra gray silicone alone and use front and main seals from M50 engine

Like said 140k is breaking that motor in. Forged crank and rods mean it's a strong motor. Why use the front and rear main seal from the M50 though?
