As someone else mentioned, we need to boycott the biggest gas company and not pump gas from them, this will cause them to lower prices to create a bidding war.

Cats have nothing to do with fuel economy. You have to get that engine dialed, 160miles per tank is flipping awful. Even at 400crank HP I'm getting 340miles to a tank (e36), which is down from 430 a tank when I was stock. I use every bit of that power too.

You have a 16.3 gallon tank... that means you're getting 10 miles per gallon out of an L6 3 liter...

And what you might not know is that the big gas company you're planning on boycotting, is likely -the same company- supplying the gas to the little guy you plan on buying your gas from...

How about every start hypermileing? That would reduce the gas prices for everyone for a lonnnnggg time.

Yep, you go ahead and don't buy gas on the 14th. Neither the local stations or the oil companies will notice the difference.

Big Oil is laughing all the way to the bank, but gas stations aren't very profitable at all. In fact, Exxon-Mobil and BP, the two largest private oil companies, sold off all of their gas stations.

Oil reserve is going "v", prices will go "^", there's nothing you can do about it.
This might be a temporary fix, if executed right, but you will face the inevitable either way.

supply and demand isn't so black and white lol... oil isn't a "want"... it is a NEED

you think gas companies don't know this? Doesn't matter when or how long you will go without gas, at some point (given a week or two) you will NEED to fill up your tank. one day isn't going to do shiit.

maybe if people actually use less gas over an extended amount of time (carpooling, get a bike for relatively short distances, etc) then you would see a slight decrease... even that is pushing it.

God you americans have it bad.

In sweden you fill up once a week and try to get by on that , if not then you'll just have to starve.

currently $9.7/gallon here
