Hat's off to Seth for the fabrication work & for proper design.

*** Can't believe how pessimistic and condescending some of the posts in this thread were.

add some cams and you will be even with a zhp on the highway and walk it off the line.

this is my 323i vs a zhp. im happy with the results..but i wonder how much faster the zhp would be if it had the same mods

next mod im going to do is swap the intake manifold and throttle body from the 330i

My Ride: 2000 BMW 323 Ci
Sweet Jesus, I have the same ride (2000 323Ci) but what I don't have is the same time, money, talent, or know how to do this stuff. I'm about to do my brakes and that will be the first thing I've done to this car on my own aside from fill up the gas tank lol. I definitely want to add aftermarket exhaust but I'd probably get a different result that yours since the engine in my 323 was replaced with a 328 about 2 years ago (I bought this car in January this year).

Intake manifold is cool...but how are you gonna do a M54B30 drive-by-wire throttle body?

No, Turner makes an adapter plate to mount the existing TB (electro-mechanical) to the larger M54B30 manifold. If you were going to use the B30 TB then it would be a simple bolt on to the matching b30 manifold...no need to use a plate for something designed for it to begin with

Unless you are converting your car to drive-by-wire...in which case I'd like the link.

Seth: When you get the final product made, any chance you could have the jig machined and sent off to fellow fanatics. I was planning to go ebay for the headers, but your calculations have swayed me. I think the machine shop at my school could whip these up in a day with the jig and enough notice.

I am somewhat involved in a local fab shop that primarily works with rotary powered cars - www.definedautoworks.com

I will likely offer these through Defined Autoworks, as his fabrication work is better than mine. I will get the dyno results and then maybe I will start thinking about a group buy option, if there is still interest.

I'm sure there will be enough interest here in this thread let alone the whole e46F community. Thanks for the update!

i have to lol at this thread... 1st every one is telling you that you should not bother making headers and you will get it wrong... then everyone is saying they amazing and they want some

good job man we need more people like this... people who are not scared to put in some work to do things right... people who dont just sit around and make up reasons not to do something

That is some ridiculous fab/welding skills! Yeah too bad the engine is tilted downwards hiding that masterpiece. If it was me, I'd hang it on my wall and show it off. Looks evil!

It's refreshing to see someone take the initiative to do something others believe can't/shouldn't be done. If this proofs to make some good gains and you decide to produce it, there are a few of us who would be interested it. Some of us still believe in function over form.
