Armageddon 2012, What are the Top Handgun Rounds

So if Armageddon 2012 really comes, what handgun rounds would be the easiest
to get a hold of ?

It would hard to get a hold of anything. That's why you stock up beforehand
Same with food and medical supplies

Minimum of about 1-3,000 rounds per caliber/per gun you own.

Food, ammo and med kits would be worth more than silver and could be used for barter currency.

Your probably right.

What I'm specifically asking is what Caliber would probably be easiest to come by, Not Manufacturer load.

9mm, 10mm, .38, .40, .45, ? ? ?

9mm is the most common worldwide. .45ACP and .40S&W are both very common. If you had to pick just one, I'd recommend 9mm. However, if you don't have an AR, AK, FAL, G3/PTR/CETME, M1, M1A, a sniper rifle, assault rifle or battle rifle, or a hunting rifle of some type, you'll find yourself in a world of shit. Hypothetically speaking.

If there's a SHTF - I'm going for my AR. The handguns will be an afterthought. That said my favorite handgun round of choice is 9mm.

While I shoot the handgun the most often, I totally understand that rifles will be the primary workhorse in a SHTF world. 5.56/.223 is my go to stash.

A 7.62 AK would be my main gun. Maybe a .45 via an XD as a sidearm.

9mm and 40 sw are easiest to get a hold of. When Armagedon comes, I would rather have my Glock 20 10mm auto =) I need to stock up on ammo though.

Would also recommend that anyone getting a SHTF-bugout-zombies attack-run for cover from Godzilla-oh no my baby mama setup together definitely get a rifle chambered in .22LR, and a couple bricks of ammo.
