I need to start my "stockpile" of .45 ACP, 9mm and 12 gauge. I'm sure there are some posted somewhere in this forum, but are there any good online sales sites for ammunition?

.223 here

Anything I can get. Anytime I find wolf for $4/20 or less and and brass for less than $6.20/20 I grab some. I would rather have quantity over quality.

I rather have both quality and quantity but it doesn't hurt to have some of the cheap shit to use for barter.

I'm thinking about keeping a minimum of 1000 rounds of the following.

1) 9mm
2) .45acp
3) 12 gauge
4) .30-06
5) 5.56x45 / .223

I have a can of 9mm and a can of 5.56. 30-06 is a bit low right now (only a hundred rounds or so) and only a couple boxes of 12 gauge, about time to order some more...

I'd stock 9mm for the hadngun, .223 for the AR, and a shit-ton of .22LR for general purpose use.

Not everyone can have both though. For example, today I bought 1000 rounds of Silver Bear 62gr SP for $225, and some 75gr LE TAP for $15 bucks. Im going to keep a mag loaded with the 75gr TAP in case I need it in the middle of the night, but in a SHTF scenario, I would much rather have 1000 rnds of soft point than 500 rounds of M193 or something. Even if it is steel case. I have never had a problem with even the cheapest steel cased Tula.

*Note, I did not buy the Silver Bear for SHTF uses, but if we wake up to a nuclear apocalypse tomorrow, I would have no reservations in taking it with me (along with my 1000 rounds of mixed SS109, M856, M855, and M193.)

My SHTF arsenal consists of the following (to date):

1) Marlin .44 magnum lever-action rifle (close range combat, big game);
2) Savage .30-06 (long range combat, big game);
3) Browning 12 gauge shotgun (same as above);
4) Beretta 22 Neos .22LR (small to mid-sized game);
5) S&W M&P 9mm (full-sized) (all-purpose);
6) Countless rounds for each.

I also keep a lighter, flashlight, and knife in my car at all times as well as one of the two pistols. I intend to buy a S&W M&P 5.56 rifle at some point in the future, but I'd like to buy a red-dot sight and a foregrip to go with it. I mean... why not?

Easiest rounds to get ahold of? Well I'd buy two handguns, a 9mm and a .40, because those are the two most common loads carried by police officers and when society fails Law Enforcement will be the first to go down and you can just grab loose ammo off their belts if you can find it

Technically, if history holds consistent, the demise of American society would likely mirror the fall of the Roman Empire. This is especially possible when you consider that Rome fell due to mass socialization and an overabundance of welfare and social programs that overtaxed people and forced everyone onto the government dole, and money dried up to pay the Legion to protect and keep fighting. Likely there would just be mass secession with the formation smaller independent countries.
And while we're on it, the police would likely stop working because the city/county/state we work for would likely just stop paying us. If I'm not getting paid, I don't care that teenagers were doing J-turns in your front yard with a 1997 Nissan Maxima or that you sent $5000 to your cousin, the Nigerian Prince, even though you're white.

Lemme guess; you just got a call for that?
