Edit: Do you know when the last time BMWfans.info was updated? My current DME version (which is the latest) doesn't agree with what that site. I know the E46 M3 was recently updated (Summer 09) because of the emissions recall though, so maybe that's the issue

Edit 2: My old ZHPs DME software does match that site, so I guess it's okay. It's just the database is from a release before Summer 09.

Neils car wouldn't need any LSZ recoding...

For the emission recall on the M3 see the SIB from BMW that has programmed numbers for the recall.

Yours should help. BMWfans.info seems to indicate that autos and manuals don't have differing software, but I am curious to see if this is actually the case

My car had the recall done, and the software version is 7842979 iirc - latest as of ista/p v2.40 afaik. Seems the version was compiled sometime in April of 2009. The latest euro flashes on the otherhand were built in 2005

Out of curiosity, have you ever done an SMG to manual conversion on an M3 without reflashing the DME? If so did it seem to work properly? I only ask because I've been tempted to try flashing the SMG software onto my own DME (I want to see if it'd enable the shift lights).
