water in trunk in strange area

I found water in my trunk today in the strangest area. We have had some pretty crazy rain the last couple of days, and will admit to perhaps not noticing it untill now, but there is a puddle in the drivers side (cup/cubby). Whats strange about it is that nothing else is wet. not the carpet, not around the tail lights (which are aftermarket RCR's). Given the way the cubby is shaped, the only way for water to get in there would be to have dripped in from the top, but thats sealed by the weather stripping. I had my emblem off over the weekend, but the trunk liner wasnt wet on top. Anyone have any thoughts, I am at my wits end....

OEM trunk? my csl rep trunk didn't seal correctly around the key hole. and the spare tire area was a puddle. nothing in the trunk was wet at all. I found the problem by getting in the trunk with a flash light and having someone hose the car down. DO THAT! Good Luck

I'll guess the taillight housing...and think guys have used silicone of some sort to seal it up...don't know if the gasket around lens is available.

Second guess...pine needles clogging the drain in your trunk lid and you have a crack in the gasket.

Third guess...you have a drain pipe that separated from its fitting in the C pillar and it found its way into that spot...but I think it otherwise drains in front of rear wheel at end of rocker panel.
