Is it bad to drink a gallon of Lipton diet green tea per day?

I'm trying to hydrate more and lose a little weight. For the last couple of days Ive tried to drink at least a gallon of the stuff but I'm some what concerned about the artificial sweeteners. Any advice?

Ummmm, I really wouldn't be concerned with it. There are artificial sweeteners or suger in most things. Is there any particular reason why you're not drinking plain water?

although it's not necessarily bad from a bodybuilding standpoint, it'd probably be better to drink plain water; i can't imagine an entire gallon's worth of artificial sweetener per day is too good for you long-term

It's got high fructose corn syrup and stuff in it, right? I wouldn't recommend it. If anything, why not just make a gallon of tea, sweeten it very lightly (with your sweetner of choice, but a packet of sugar in a gallon of water is fine).

Tea is a mild diuretic, so you might see some temporary water loss from it. Also, drinking a gallon will cause you to hold less water. It's definitely a good part of a bigger diet plan.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

The diet version doesn't have the high fructose corn syrup. I've been reading allot of good things about antioxidants lately which makes me think it would have some benefits over water.

Lol don't be ridiculous. Drink a gallon of water and eat some fruit if you want some antioxidants.

i believe tea dehydrates you so by drinking that much tea i think your going in the wrong direction of hydration. IMO, start carrying a water bottle with you as much as you can and just sip it often and within a few days you will be reaching for it even when its not there

Besides artificial sugars (which is a great point) the oxalates in tea will interfere with the calcium absorption in your body. The oxalates in the tea binds to calcium and is removed through the digestive tract and not absorbed. So if you're trying to cut weight, you need a good amount of calcium in your body in order to do so and drinking tea will stunt that. Hope this helps OP.

no need to drink a GALLON a day to get the benefits
whenever possible, go with the natural solution over an artificial one
