Lowered car, big speed bumps.. lots of noise??

Hey guys,

So I finally went very slow over a huge ass speed bump, knowing half way I was def gonna have trouble.. and all I hear was scratching and when i came down a big bang.. just wondering what it hits ? I dont see any dents or anything.. is it hitting the rocker panel protector that protects the body from being damaged?

I know I scrapped the front bumper cuz theres tons of scratches underneath the front bumper but very hard to notice...

I just want to know what I hit and underneath going over and is that bad?

Theres no noises or weird sounds coming from my car... maybe im abit praranoid but would also like to be educated on what protects the car and why the bangs sound so worse than what they are lol

thanks!

Most like likey your skid plate bottomed out on the bump after the front wheels went over. If you scraped you went too fast. try going at an angle. one wheel over at a time.

I did that, i angled it .. these were pretty big speed bumps that were really wide and long and high.. i heard the bang come from the sides under the skirt.

Like i said it was most likely your skid plate, or it was your frame rail

Thanks man... I guess even hearing those big bang sounds is just the sound of them hitting each other but wont cause any major damage to my car.. thanks

yes if you go over them fast and bottom out you will hear a rather loud bang. if your really really worried jack the car up and inspect it well

Yea, i may do that but i didnt go fast, i said i went very slow on an angle and i guess coming down it banged, and even going over it scraped cuz its low and the bump was very high so it caught the side skirts and front as well

There's a speed bump near where I live that I bottom out my car on every time I have to go that way. And i'm just stock ride height for the coupes. You'll be fine.
