I like my CMC mags, and WC second....Kimber mags suck. 1911 is a great gun, but will keep my Glock 26 for personal carry. I trust that gun with my life.

Kimber mags are Mecgars or something, aren't they? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe most manufacturers farm out their 1911 mags to the same company. I heard Larry Vickers talking about it. It's why you're recommended to buy the aftermarket mags. I know I hated my factory Kimber mag, and that's why I had a bunch of WCs.

I know. Worth the money though. I want a Vickers custom 1911, but those go for $5000-$8000 each.
I want to take Vickers Tactical's 1911 Armorer and Gunsmithing courses. In the Gunsmithing course, you actually build your own 1911 from scratch. I wouldn't mind building a pistol on a Caspian Arms titanium recon receiver.

CMC designed a lot of Kimber's 1911 line back in the 90's but I don't know who currently makes Kimber's magazines. I just bought 4 of CMC's Match Grade 7rd magazines for my Kimber Compact UCII and other than the stainless vs. blued they are visually the same in terms of design, which I would expect with CMC designing them. I don't know if the magazine spring differs though. My Kimber was bought in the early-mid 2000's and has had no issues so far even with using the OEM magazine for that long.

I like the built and custom work done by Pistol Dynamics, my friend has a one of their Scout models and has had his competition SA TRP worked on by them.

I love my 1911, and will keep it forever; but my Sig P229 was easier to shoot.
