Ok, I know I asked something similar before, but does anyone know why tail lights for Coupes don't fit on a convertible? I mean exactly why. I can see the trunk lid being redesigned to accomodate the cover lid for the top storage, but why alter the design shape for the tail lights? That doesn't make economic sense from a production viewpoint.

Has anyone actually compared "standard" coupe tail lights (ok, prefacelift) to a vert's tail lights? Is it a mounting difference like with the front corners (i.e. push v. screw in)?

Anyone know what the deal is here? Has anyone physically looked at both cars and tried to see how coupe tail lights could be altered to fit a vert?

(No need to say if you don't know, just looking for someone who does. ;^)
Thanks

Just wondering... Considering getting BSW Stage 1 speaker system over my HK. Anyone put one in a VERT? It's a lot of $$ and wondering your thoughts on the improvement. If the sound just floats out of the open top, would it really make that much difference? (Or it could be the opposite, you need a more powerful sound due to more of the ambient noise?). Your experiences? John

He lives here in SD. It's got a lot of DINAN goodies too. And a lot of sound work as well.
Not really my style, but nothing against it.

treatment

What's good in the soft top cleaning/treatment area? I've bought some Meguire's trigger pack cleaner & aerosol waterproofing treatment but haven't used it yet. Can always take it back to the shop if anyone reckons it's crap. Being in Oz, we probably have a much more limited market than in the US. Any recommendations?

Need help with bluetooth mic install in 04 vert

I have a 2004 330Ci convertible and am trying to install the 2nd generation bluetooth mic. The production date of my car is 4/03. When I pull down the light panel, I don't see a wiring loom for the mic connector.

My steering column does have an indentation for where a mic might be installed but I thought the steering column bluetooth mic only came in later vert production.

Any helpful advice would be much appreciated.

What is the point of threads like this? I see no benefit to posting various subject items inside a single thread. So why?

I do agree that there should be one. That said, I fail to see how bundling all the topics into one thread can help. Who is gonna wanna read through all this to find anything?

Better to just post your issues as they come, search, and use cabrio in your search, so you narrow your problems down to what you need.

If you're subscribed to this thread you pretty much know every issue/resolution so far... its worked to far for me. If you don't see a point, well then as said before, convince the mods to provide a sub-forum .

Actually, with a new account, I am subscribed automatically. Have not had a chance to go in and change the settings.

I will be happy to try to convince the mods to do so. Make sure you look for my post and vote accordingly.
