Anyone else get a "savings card" from BMW Norwood/Norwell? It's preloaded with $1000 and is good for 15% off of services, parts, and accessories. Not sure if that's better than the discount they give for BMWCCA membership.

I forgot the terms and conditions, but they aren't giving you $1000 to blow scott free. I forgot the terms... One of them i remember was $1000 the purchase of a car, if you don't buy a car then the 15% off service comes into play.

Ya, not a straight grand. It's good for 15% off stuff up to $1000.

Oh I see.

Kinda pointless really, just shop at Tischer and save 20% across the board.

Unless you go there for Servicie, in which case you probably don't need 15% off anyways

HA, I actually brought that thing into work and showed it to a few buddy's of mine. They all couldn't believe how BMW just straight out gave me $1000! HAAAA fools should have read the fine print. I also just got a "VIP CARD" from Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury. too bad they charge you $9 for ONE QUART OF OIL, and you can't even use the stupid card for that! Too bad they QUADRUPLE charge you for everything or it might be a good deal. it's all crap marketing tactics.

Best one i ever got was like 10% off parts/service at Trans Atlantic in Hyannis. I went there and bought two cases of oil and got 10% off, so it ended up costing me about $4-5 a quart. Now that was a deal. I made sure I called and verified it could be used on oil before i went. suckas.

Oh yeah, in other news, went to Norwood BMW gallery yesterday for a case of OEM oil. $6.75 a quart for all you Castrol Syntec users out there that pay more for the Syntec than $6.75 a quart.

My b*tch has an incredible thirst.

I wish I could find oil for the M for that price. $11-12/L is getting old.

Do you mean it burns oil in between changes?

Burns like mad son.

I took it into the dealer about 4 times under CPO and they even replaced my oil separator (think = CCV), and kept telling me that the amount i was leaking was "within tolderances" or some BS. I have to add a quart about every week and a half or two. seriously. it just disappears no leaking anywhere. wife's car was fine, but hers started to do the same now. talk about F*** annoying. replaced VCG's on both cars, no leaks from there, replaced wife's oil filter housing gasket, need to do mine as that might be a source adding to the problem, but there's no way it's all leaking from there cause there would be a puddle under my car from that much oil!

still love this b**ch though.

Yeah, the manual says burning 1 qt between changes is normal. I probably go through a little more than that, but after 130k I figure it's normal.

My previous 2004 325Ci with 98K miles never needed additional oil between changes. The 2005 M3, now at 69K, doesn't either. You guys must be doing it wrong.

My buddy's 2000 528i never burns, neither does his wife's 1999 328i. I think it's the M54 B30 specifically that gargles gallons of oil.

Glad to see I'm not alone!

Sam/Russo, what kind of oil are you using now and how much do you get it for?
