here's some pics of my car.... i've been looking through this website to find out exactly what i have. there are so many variations in the e46 that i cant tell what's what. I my front bumper stock? What kind of headlights are these, halogen, right? I'm pretty sure the corner lights are not stock.... Is this a facelift model?? It might seem like im a jackass with these stupid questions, well cause i am..lol. I am mechanically inclined, i did put a clutch in this thing.

just trying to make sure i know what i got before i start adding mods.

thanks!

You have a prefacelift 3xxci. It has the sport package. I can tell by the 17" style 44 wheels. Your front signals, side signals and rear tail lights are all not stock. They're better looking than stock. You do have halogen lights not xenon. Your front and rear bumper are both stock. That actually a good looking bumper IMO and if you black out the mesh area looks even better.
One thing you should do is paint your orange reflector on the front. It's an eye sore.

Clear reflectors would look better than painted IMHO
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-330...rkers/ES11209/

My sport package came with different wheels. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow, but the sport package wheels have a tiny ///M logo on them like this:
http://www.dragtimes.com/parts/BMW-E...631206694.html and from what I can see, yours don't have that.

Maybe this listing of an actual sports package can help:
http://www.bimmerlist.com/ads/2002-b...-w-navigation/

Notice the steering wheel ///M logo.

BTW you do Not have the Cold Weather package. (No headlight washers.)

And you might want to read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_(E46)
(if this link gives you trouble, type directly into the address box)

Then take your VIN number to a dealership and they'll print you out data sheet on your car.

Actually style 44's came with sport package 325's preface and double spoke style 68 came from sport package 330's preface. And also, CI's (coupe) all came with sport packages.

Well there ya go... Didn't see the 325 in the fine print. (Not meaning to be a 330 snob. )

Thank you. So many variations to keep track of. And now I know the wheel style I have. Much appreciated.

Wrong on the cold weather package. My car has it and I don't have headlight washers.

Not according to this wiki link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_(E46)

Quote:
Cold weather package (ZCW)

The cold weather package has been available on all 3-series and M3 cars. It typically included:
  • Pass-through ski bag
  • Heated seats
  • Headlight washers
  • Fold down rear seats
Or this one too:

This discussion (post 4) is interesting.
http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=276011

And from the man himself: Kris Linquist
http://www.e46fanatics.com/faq/faqs.php#options
Quote:
Headlight washer jets standard on cold-weather package
This looks like a saved PDF of an old BMW NA press release:

And although specified for the M3 only, we read on page 19:
Quote:
Cold Weather Package. High-pressure headlight cleaning system, heated front seats and ski bag.

Just what options do you consider as minimally necessary for what BMW calls a "Cold Weather Package"?

Anybody ever keep track of all the various options for everything? Mine originally came with 3 memory setting fully adjustable power seating with heat, but no lumbar support. My daughter's is the same but with lumbar adjustment and no heat. (She's trying to convince me to swap. I'm trying to convince her to buy me a five point harness racing seat, and then I'll give her mine.)

Sometimes I think it's third shift and Gunther shouts out, "Hey, ve haf nicht lumbar buttons" and his manager replies, "Too bad, just leaf it out and keep the line goink!"

The original owner (OO?) purchased the car with a hard top that's now lost in the black forest somewhere. So, it took me awhile to realize that the "extra" hardware and electronics kit y'all had to add is already on my car.

(And I still don't know what frggin audio amplifier I have.)

Really? Didn't know the full power/memory seats came without lumbar support. Mine has all 3 plus are heated.

Yep, the lumbar support switch is just a blank knockout circle - no switch.

I have ski by pass, heated seats, and no headlight washers. My dealership has told me the packages I have, and the ZCW was one of them.

Totally random: I like the foglight surrounds that you have. Mine just have a black plastic thing around them. Where did you get those?

Thanks, I picked them up from a member on the forum. They are the Hamann replicas. They used to sell them on Bimmian.com but they discontinued them. The original Hamann covers run $500+. You can look on ebay or ebay.UK and try your luck there. Took me a few months to find these and am very satisfied with the look.

Ski bypass, heated seats, headlight washers... my ZCW package. Interesting that some have the washers and some don't. John
