Played about an hour last night after steam unlocked it at midnight... Game is awesome.. had a blast with the first one and so far this one seems just as good if not better...

Played the first one as a sniper so i started this one as Zero the ninja and will build him out with the sniper skill tree..
But i'm going to also make a gunzerker character also.

i'm playing on PC.

Haven't played either...is it worth it to pick up Borderlands and play through the first one and progress to this one?

So fellow geeks, enlighten an old man. What is this "Borderlands"? 3D action RPG kinda thing? Or is it more shooter than RPG? Is is closer to a Quake clone, or Fallout 3? I'm a PC gamer, but I somehow missed this one.

it's an FPS with RPG elements.. finding weapons and building out a skill tree completing missions for XP.... But at the heart of it it's a kick ass FPS also..

Do the missions get repetetive? I loved Skyrim, but the repetetive nature of the missions was a big turn off, after playing about 200+ hours of it.

No, there are main story missions and A LOT of side missions. Plus you can just explore the map with a car, etc. Also because you can build your character and reset the skills for money all the time(You can go 2 different routes to see you what like the best, for example Zero is either Sniper or Melee). 84 million weapons in the game which are randomly generated, so no one ever gets the same gun.

Level 20 Zero so far and the graphics are amazing.

Waiting for the GOTY edition, me and my friends still have a couple of the DLC still to do for the first game.

How are there that many weapons?

Just random stats for each gun?
