Rear Creaking

Hi,

I'm sure this must have been covered a few times already but here goes. I've had my 2002 330 ci for about a month now and it has just started to develope an annoying creaking noise coming from the nearside rear (uk). It happens at low speed mostly when turning or going over speed bumps etc. It's weird because it doesn't do it all the time and not whilst the car is under load with passengers. I've had all the bushes checked which are fine and the subframe is also fine. I was wondering if there as anything else I can check to stop the creaking. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Dan.

Same here. Only when going over low speed large bumps, like recessed drain grates. Haven't checked the subframe yet. Original suspension components with 89k

From what I have read, it is usually worn out rear damper mounts or the anti-roll bar end links. The symptoms of a defective subframe appear to be fundamentally different from this problem.

I will follow up on this in the next month or two and come back with my findings. I too was suspecting the shock mounts. Thanks!
