Anyway, I'm in the process of buying my first M3. A 2001 Phoenix Yellow, and it has the OEM navigation and Harman Kardon AM/FM/Tape, which I just can't do. Daddy needs an input for his Grooveshark and Android phone.

Well, looks like I can get everything in one package, this may be the first thing I do when the car comes in. Android in my car! I think most of my questions have been answered, it appears the system is plug and play, and I need a special cable to extend to my trunk. I have Sprint, which means I have unlimited data, I just have to root my phone to teather.

Few things.
-When will the Android version be in stock (if it's not already)?
-Will regular updates be available for Android (2.3, 3.0, 3.2, etc)?
-Is the unit shipped with its own GPS or does it use the BMW navigation GPS?
-Can the unit make phone calls or bluetooth audio link to my phone?
-What's this talk about V6?

What model car was this installed in? I have a 318i and it has the stock CD player and the air conditioning below it which all fits into about the same space as this unit takes up. Would it be possible to install one of these units in my car/a 318i?

Wow Jeff is the bomb! Just placed my order for the Android, and not even 5 minutes later I got a UPS tracking number!

I'll be selling my Win CE version soon if anyone's interested, especially if you're in the Bay Area. It was also purchased through Jeff less than a year ago.

2) There are updates that come out every now and then. Just check this thread from time to time or ask Jeff if theres some kind of newsletter.

3) It comes with its own GPS antenna. You can check the 1st page of this thread for installation instructions on where to install that. Very simple process.

4) You can make calls via bluetooth on the headunit. I believe you have to search through your phone itself for the contacts though. There is bluetooth on the unit though.

5) The V6 is a different unit. Its not the android as the v6 is WinCe based.



Ill add two more things here.

1) Purchase the unit from Jeff. Hes very helpful when it comes to answering all types of questions regarding this unit. At times Jeff is busy so check the Dynavin FAQ before asking. Chances are your question has already been asked in that thread.

2) When ordering the unit you will need a FAKRA cable since your car has OEM nav.

I have problem with finding satellite, everytime takes a long time to find one, right now i have the receiver on dashboard, any solution for this ?

I tried searching this thread and did not find an answer. Does anyone know where I could download an offline map for the Android system? I downloaded the the iGO Primo Darkoz uploaded on another thread but turns out it's only for the WindowsCE edition. Back to square one again, thanks

I wasn't able to get out to CES 2011 this year, but kept up to date with announcements via reports and reviews etc of other potentially suitable products. Sounds like your theory of no Android on the BMW specific head units we're interested in has no substance from Jeff's update!

I wasn't clear enough sorry... I forgot to add that I need Australian maps.. Darkoz helped natered further up but I can not see Australian maps... thanks again

Been out of the loop for awhile, saw there was a software update from 9-15-11. Is this worth downloading? Anyone know what this fixes or enhances? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hey guys, I've just gotten one of these, and i've read this whole thread.

I haven't been able to update my Android Firmware and i'm pretty sure it's because I don't have one of the Dynavin formatted Micro SD cards. Can anyone share the tool required to format it?

Also I found a workaround for streaming bluetooth audio while using the android side. If you're listening to BT, you just press Mode to go back to the radio side's main menu before pressing Navi. However if you try to adjust the volume on the steering wheel controls it just goes back to radio.
