Also what phones will work currently? I know Iphone 4 and I think HTC.. what else? and which ones for free (no monthly wifi charges). thanks again..
I tried and tried with the Droid X since I have one, I rooted it, tried numerous tethers and I could not get it to work but if you do, please let me know.

At least it's cheaper than At&T's data plan. Can you show me what it looks like? if whenever i turn my car on i can get connected right away with no turning of my dynavin and turning it back on for 10 times just so that i can connect to my iphone then i might get one.

SOrry, didn't see your post.

Thanks tp Danoff and Jeff! The only thing I do not want to have to do twice is remove the aluminum trim pieces that run over the glove box and radio. Last time one of the plastic pieces that held the aluminum post broke, and now the trim won't hold tight (by the passenger window). I don't even want to think how much that piece of aluminum costs. Once I'm in, I dont mind doing all the work, but those two pieces of trim must come out to do anything.. Maybe next time I will lubricate the pins so it is not so hard to remove. Some of the pin receptacles came out and a couple of those cracked as well, but are intact enough to hold.

I think i will try the counter install to let me play this weekend.. I can get nav installed and the wireless working with my evo. The mosquitos are going strong here since it rained all week, and working in the alley on my car = lots of bites.. ;-)

Media player

So i was messing around with the music player on my dynavin and i must say i will only be playing music from the android side. USB was not looking nice at all, iPod was acting weird, and when i did get it to play all sorts off keys popped up on the screen as if it was playing from the USB side..... just weird. also i had ONLY 10 songs on my sanDisk usb drive and i was seeing songs from the last sanDisk i had plugged up...it was as if the unit saved the songs from my previous sanDisk. smh... but I'm happy with the android side of music. Now to get connected and stay connected.

On the 32Gb Micro SD card.. I would suggest this one.. http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-MicroS...5935920&sr=1-4
It comes with a micro to standard SD adapter and a MicroSD to USB adapter. It is also the level 4 speed card! The cheaper ones are level 2 or 1. The extra adapters cost only $2 more than the level 4 bulk (no packaging). I got one for my EVO 4G and it is perfect. Much faster than the EVO standard 8G card which is only level 2.

live2ride090 have you tried this? http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all...tfruap4dx.html Anyone with Droid X may want to try it as well. This link takes you to a Droid X forum with instructions on how to wifi tether in ap/infastructure mode. If you give it a shot let me know if it works. My Dynavin will be here Thursday... Can't wait..

No problems connecting at all, just make sure its turned on before you turn on the Dynavin. Seems to connect faster that way. It stayed connected for the most part but when you go through the no cell service areas which I do, obvousily you have to reconnect it.

Thanks for the firmware update Jeff. I installed it tonight and the market does indeed work for me now. It's worth noting that the first time I rebooted after the firmware update the system didn't come up. I simply started the process over and it worked on the second try.

market and app updates working
I'm curious what else (aside from the GPS fix) was tweaked, maybe it's my imagination but my wifi seems to work better.

Thanks Jeff!! Now the power of Android is unleashed Market is fine, also GPS has been fixed (Navigation shows a pretty big circle, which means the accuracy is not very good, but maybe I have to give it more time to get more satellites). Apart from that, didn't notice anything. I only tested for 10 mins, though.
