Something that doesn't do what it announces is a joke, be it a PC, a car entertainment system or an iphone. Let's be serious.

From what I know about the 3G modem (which I admit, isn't much) It should be working, it sounds like the dealer you got the modem from didnt get anywhere so I'll contact dynavin to see if they can help.

So my Dynavin Android unit has made it to the UK, and I am getting ready to install. Jeff's instructions look great, but I have two questions:

1) Where can I get an RHD version of the HVAC relocation bracket? I am after this one http://jandtdistributing.com/dynavin...-button-style/ but for my right hand drive car, and preferably from a UK-based supplier to save on shipping costs.

2) I am interested in adding a backup camera at some point. How easy are they to fit? And how do I attach it on a Touring? What do I need to do as part of the main Dynavin install to keep this option open for the future?

So answering my own question, I make the part number 51168230903. I have ordered one from my local BMW dealer for £38.

Hey Guys, long time lurker. Just got my android unit installed, gave my v4 to my fiancé for her e46.

Any news on SiriusXM working on the android side? I could live with streaming through Bluetooth on the radio side, but you cannot switch over to the android side while streaming as you could with the v4.

Also, a little off topic, but after installing the v4 in my fiancé's e46, I'm getting a popping noise as i turn off the unit or when switching sources. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks for everyone's help, I've solved a lot of problems on my own with the help of Jeff these threads an countless others just lurking.

Really? I could have sworn I'd done that.

are you using a Line output converter? On a V4 you NEED to.

Until I know for a fact that the modems work without issue I wont be selling them. Here in the US they dont make a lot of sense for 99% of dynavin users so have never really dealt with them. The guy in this thread who is having issues is in Spain where it makes more sense to use them.

Android, no, if your doing anything Bluetooth related n try to switch to android, once you make the switch it changes from bluetooth to the radio.

An thanks Jeff, I'll check. Would the dynavin have come with one. I'm clueless when it comes to car audio installs, was able to stumble through it on my own.

In prep of the arrival of the DynaDroid on Thursday, I've been testing wifi tethering of other android devices to my DX. This works like a charm now that I've rooted the OS and installed the unlocked wifi tethering app. That's a very good sign! The head unit comes in Thursday so I'll update further at that point.

dont know about other devices but if you look at the wifi network with a Windows 7 machine it has a different icon if it is an ad hoc network. Infrastructure shows the normal "signal bars" or "2 networked computers" icon, but ad hoc looks like a little triangle of computer screens.

I have tested on a windows 7 machine and it is in fact infrastructure. The tether between other android devices and well as windows devices works as it should so far.

Perhaps this has been covered before and I just can't find it in the thread search but I am a little bit concerned with heat issues and stability / screen longevity. I live in the southeast where 110+ and 95% humidity is a reality July - August.

Now that it is starting to warm up or perhaps some of the old WinCE owners can chime in with their experiences with how the Dynavin handles the heat. My factory CD player is already experiencing LCD bleeds and it hasn't even cracked 95 yet.

Mine went through last summer here....110+, no issues.

I haven't seen a heat related failure yet with any customers either.

You shouldn't have any heat issues, during summer it gets damn hot here in Australia, often 40C+ in mid summer and after almost a year with the Dynavin I've never had an issue.

I answered my own questions about RHD HVAC relocation, but can anyone help on the other question? If someone could point me at some installation instructions for a backup camera that would be a great start.

Amazing what you can find by using the forum's Search function and just typing in Dynavin Reverse Camera...........

So I'm having the same issue with my unite as to where the application will ask to FORCE CLOSE when i try to open it. For a week now i only have iGO on my SD card, nothing else. I thought wiping my unit would help, i also wiped my SD card...BTW i did that three times, both the unit and the card. Someone here says try a new SD card.....hmm...I didn't do that as yet, but the app that ask to force close is Google maps....i don't think that is installed on the SD card, funny thing is when i went to market/my apps, it was as if it was never installed. I tapped it and install it again. Oh youtube as well. I really dont want to spend $$$$ on another SD card... but i guess i'm gonna have to if i want to figure this thing out.
