You want to put the head on with 2 people. The timing chain gets in the way, and it's very difficult to manage it and the head at the same time. Get someone to handle the timing chain while you drop the head. You don't want to slip and scratch, dent, or bend anything at this point.

Exactly how I did it Adam thanks. I'm using the torque sequence of the Bently manual and specs of the raceware instructions.

Great progress!

Are you planning on pulling off the whole front of the car to put the engine back in, or dropping in over the top of the radiator support. If you are going through the top, you'll probably want to remove the A/C compressor.....and the engine mounts.

Plan now is to be on the road by the 5th......as long as this storm doesn't destroy the car ha. I guess its easier to get a new body then the engine(which is safe) at this point.

but the main delay is because I don't want to get caught in the storm on my bike going home to work on the car.

I dont think the pressure plate is stopping it , more like the bearing as the pressure plate can only be bolted in in one place(as it fits snugly over rivets) , the clutch disk however needs to be centered with a centering tool or the tranny wont hit the bearing right and jam.

A centering tool can be made from wood(grind it down till it goes in the bearing , then grind the rest of it down so it goes snugly in the clutch disk splines)

I used a centering tool on my 420g + HPF clutch and it was still so tight that i ended up using the bolts to "pull" the tranny to the engine the last inch.
