One piece of advice: Take the turbo off before you pull the engine/tranny out.

Also, get one of these: http://www.princessauto.com/workshop...keyword=engine

I hope you can prove me wrong :] can't wait to see the outcome, with a built internals and somethin else bluejeansonfire made 414 rwhp and 376 rwt on 10.5 psi, maybe with your engine being deck plated you can make upwards of 425 on 15 psi :]

I found the turbo to be the biggest obstacle trying trying to get the engine out. You can tilt the engine up and down, but you can't tilt it side to side very easily. If it wasn't hitting the subframe, it was hitting the frame rail.....

I pulled the engine out of my race car with the headers on a LOT easier:

I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you clarify?

I pulled my engine with headers(no tranny though) on and it was easy (though i forgot to remove the engine ground)

Also having a roof mounted engine/tranny lift is alot easier i think..

Well look at it from the bright side , you're not me

About 2 years ago i was going to replace my clutch and one of the starters bolts stripped it's head.

I paniced since it was so high up (there's not much room to get tools on) and i didn't feel like pulling the engine because of one bolt.

3,5hours later and a dremel got the head off

Day 3

So I came home to find a sticker on my car that read. "Car is in violation of apartment parking policy"
1.Car on jack stands
2.Unsightly blue tarp on Vehicle.

"This vehicle will be towed in 24hours if not moved"

So i just lowered and put the front clip back on.

So I got it out by my self with a lil help from bluejeans (on the phone).

I'm sure the machine shop can fix this.....

Yes it was loose jus barley touched it. I saw what i want to fix it already.

Bout to take off the head.

You sir, have balls. Inspiring build. Makes me really appreciative for the garage I have.

I may have missed it but how do you plan on getting the engine to the required workshops? Taxi? lol

Nice work!

Glad you'll be able to fix the oil pump while it's out.

Holy crap!!

Dude...you are hardcore!!!

I have $3,000+ in storage bins and shelving to store stuff in...and you put all the parts INSIDE the car. Makes me feel kind of spoiled....

Serious question: Do you have the Vanos alignment tools to re-install the cams....or have access to them?

What is the gear on the rear of the crank? nothing goes on it.
Is it normal for my valves and pistons to have that crap on them? what is it?

Also whats the bet way to get the pistons out, I can't get them to move much. well the one I unbolted.
