For those of you not painting your reflector bowl like the OP had and most others, there is no need to remove the reflector bowl period. Just insert the projector. This will not only save you time, but will have the headlights fairly aligned with minimum adjustments.

Also perhaps high temperature paint instead of regular paint. I noticed light smoke filling my headlight for about 1-2 hours of use time, then it stopped. I reopened the housing to find the paint on the reflector/halogen contact points on the inside had very slightly melted. I didn't think it was a big deal but left the lights on with the headlight lens off until it stopped.

For those of you that did the retrofit, did you all use a wire harness with relay or no? I did not hook up a wire harness, and just connected the connector to the ballast. Now I am having trouble with one of the lights dimming and get brighter whenever I step on the gas. I switched ballasts and it still happens on the opposite side so I have narrowed it to a ballast. I contacted the ballast seller, and they seem to think the ballast is not receiving enough power. Does this sound correct, or are they just trying to avoid replacing my ballast under warranty?

Guys, you still need to have the car coded for xenon lights OR have a wiring harness.

So we just make an appointment at the local BMW dealer and tell them to flash or code our Xenon lights?

No, because you will pay an insane amount for something that can be done for now more than $30 at a local shop who has the bmw diagnostic tool or a local member with the software as well.

My friend installed P46 headlights with a 55 watt kit. His cluster kept flickering. I had to code his car for xenons to get rid of the bulb out warning, but he also needed a wiring harness for the extra current.

Doubt it, an HID kit is still plugged into the factory wiring no matter what. P46 or retrofit.

well I have a personal supplier in fort lee but I didn't want to get his HID's as I don't like his new ballasts. So I just went ahead and bought a kit from ddmtuning even thought all the bad stuff that has been said about them. I wont lie when I say that they are a great kit so far, very bright and absolutely no flickering. I'm satisfied

When I didn't have my harness, I had no issues at all with codes or even my simple bi-xenon feature. I don't think this is required.

Now that I have the relay installed.... flickering and bulb out warnings...

Ok i read to page 11, please excuse me if these have been answered.

1. So if i get the H1 Bi-xenon mini kit, each projector will have a 2nd pair of wires (or a signle wire?) coming from it that flick the shield to make the Hi beam part work?
1b. Is it a 2nd pair of wires to power the bi-xenon shield, or just a single wire, like a brake light switch or ignition switch?
2. If i do not use the bi-xenon feature, i can just run regular low beams,
3. A325h, am i understanding what you did right, you tapped into the OE high beam wires going to the inner shroud, and made these power the shield? Can u say again, what was the issue you had, and why. So you soldered that same wire tap, or did u remove the tap and splice and then wire?
4. Prefacelift, 99-00 sedan guys, are you getting bulb out warnings, should i buy error cancelers too?
5. If i already have a HID kit here, but H7 or whatever, all i would need is H1 bulbs right, theyre universal right?
6. whats the relay and harness business you guys keep mentioning about giving flicker relay and harness for what?

finally, ive never done angles eyes, how the fuk are they done?

Thanks
