Or for the rings go it all pretty-like and cut away one 'layer' of one section of the ring. Snaps right in, no problems, tight fit.

Soooo I did this mod about 5 months ago, and everything was fine. two days ago I washed the car, and the drivers side bulb decided to stop working, so naturally i was like aww man moisture sucks.... well I replaced the bulb, and nothing, swapped the ballast, and nothing. Got a new ballast, and still nothing. My high beam switch no longer operates the shutter in the morimotos either. Does anyone know of this happening, and could it be because I never got my LCM flahsed?!?!?!

Is there a flow of power to the low beam connector when the lights turn on? There should be a momentary spike and IIRC small spikes from the car trying to detect a bulb. If not, you may have shorted that part.

The angel eyes that need to be used when this is done are for the projector right? Not the non projector light?

When finished, match the angel eyes to your ORIGINAL bowl style. So if you retrofitted the MH1s into a halogen housing, buy angel eyes for halogen lights.

I ordered prism cut shields from StupidPig over at HIDPlanet. I'll try to get pics and video of those when they come in if I don't completely mess them up while bending them.

Comes down to preference. Projector angel eyes are slightly smaller and will sort of 'cover' some of the halogen bowl. Halogen angel eyes are slightly larger and will hug the rim of the bowl all the way around.

It all comes down to how much OCD you have in you.

That said, my OCD recommends halogen angel eyes for halogen housings.

These work great! Great write up! The only problem is I didn't pay attention to the "top" of the passenger side. Now I have to pull it out and fix it. Anyways, I recommend it to anyone.

Here's my set up the way his are. My lights are from ddm. I have 55w 4500k in the head lights and 35w 5000k in the fogs. 1st picture is with both on, second is without fogs and 3rd is fogs only. I need to aim them a little better but i will do that when the led angel eyes come in.

You should also look at adjusting the cutoff shields. See how they turn down in a frowny face towards the ends? They should have a straight cutoff. It'll take a little bending so be extremely careful.

Also be very careful about rotational alignment. It's not just about glare. If 1/3 of your light is being thrown off to the side (as it appears your passenger's side is doing) then that's 1/3 less light you have on the road.

Ideally, it should look like this:

Also be VERY careful with 55w ballasts. The Mini H1s have a tendency to bubble the chrome and peel (like the OEM AL projectors) when exposed to the heat of a 55w bulb.

ETA: It would be easier to see what's going on if you backed-up to 50-feet as well.

GL!

Auto leveling is only installed on cars with projectors from the factory, so if you're looking to do this chances are it's a non-issue.

Also, my package from DDM arrived. Horribly packed and it looked like someone had sat on it for days; but nothing was broken so I guess it's as OK as it can be.

Open up the headlights again and rotate your projectors.

This. Driver's side should be rotated counter-clockwise and passenger side should be rotated clockwise. You might also want to revisit tightening and/or silicon them in once rotated properly.

Another option would be to use the included H7 adapter plate. Use a dremel and trim it to the same cutouts as the halogen bowls have then slide it into the MH1 threaded shaft. It should help keep alignment.

Also, this cutoff was right from the factory. Nice color, but not terribly sharp. 20ish feet away at an angle, obviously. Camera actually washed-out the colors a bit.
