the DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast

I went with DDM slim ballasts, note they are digital ballasts so no cold start up issues. Also easy to fit because they are slim, duh..
Installed for 2 months and working good.

I've heard bad things about DDM.

I recommend this site:
http://aggracing.com/store/index.php...&product_id=73

The seller is a regular on another forum and offers great support and warranty, I used that kit on my bike and my retro fit with no issues.

Just finished this retrofit the other day and I must say that I am definitely impressed. The cutoff is very sharp and pretty comparable to my buddies '09 Acura TSX. I have used the DDM HID kits (both raptor and DDM ones) and the Morimoto 3Five kit blows these away in terms of output, color, and overall look. Do yourself a favor and get this kit if its within your budget, it is definitely worth it. I am so glad that I went with this retrofit and did not end up buying the depo lights. It took me probably 5 or 6 hours to do the headlights and install the angel eyes, but overall the DIY is pretty easy to do and the write up is very straightforward.

Set Up:
Stage III H1 kit from The Retrofit Source
5000k Morimoto Bulbs
Morimoto 3Five ballasts with Canbus
DDM LED Angel Eyes

Pics:
Here are some pics I took on my phone, sorry for the quality. As you can see, they still retain that "OEM" look. I still need to polish the lenses with some plastx

So did you get any flickering in the HID?
I installed HID's and I'm getting flickering now, and I did install a capacitor, and it seems to have fixed it, (for now)
But did anyone else get this issue? And how did YOU fix it?

ok guys..don't want to be a noob..I read and looked the first page and the last ten pages..But I am really looking into buying this pieces soon..What is the up to date set up to buy and from whom? all I saw was that DDM is no good..is that still true? I would LIKE to stay under $200 for everything on the retrofit (I already have the AE that I ordered from Umnitza-Orions V2 Opaque)..Can you give me a list of what I need pretty please lol..Thanks!!

So far this is what I think people I are getting from previous posts:

The Retrofit Source:

BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (H1)
Adapter Plate: 9006
Ballasts: Morimoto 3Five (35w)
Bulbs: H1: Morimoto 3Five 6000K
Halos: No Thanks
Projectors: LHD (North American Standard)

Is that right? I am thinking 6000K since my AEs are 6000K as well...Is that the right Adapter Plate? and Wire harness is also Relay:9006? I have No idea under what I am talking about here other than the color (6K)..so take it easy on me

I want to try this retrofit. However I have the depo projector head lights which are a POS. You think retrofitting with the Morimoto projectors would fit in the Depo projector head light housing?

Your better off selling the depos and doing the retrofit in oem housings. Either that or do the retrofit first and then swap the headlights and sell the depos.

All together it was about $400. If you use different HID kits, you could probably do it for cheaper, but I highly recommend using the Morimoto 3Five kit.

Breakdown:

The Stage III Kit from the Retrofit Source - $295
(Use coupon code "TRS/HIDP" for free shipping
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=227

DDM LED Angel Eyes - $90 shipped
(Allow at least 2 weeks for delivery, their shipping is pretty slow)
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/White-Light-Angel-Eye

Random Assorted parts - $15
Wire loom, wire connectors, silicone sealant etc.

Hello, I did this retrofit and here are some of my thoughts. I used the E46 shrouds from Retrofit source, which needed the centric ring adapters...still did not fit perfectly, had to do some dremel work and then the RTV...did not really hold it up as much as I thought it would. I bought the Morimotos Minis from Umnitza for $85.00, plus $? for a 35W CANBUS, they included a bluish dim bulb with it. I'm thinking this might be a 12000K bulb or higher since the output was so low, and I could not really see very well. I could still peak into the Morimoto MINI projectors and see the BI-Xenon Motor inside of it. Did anybody remove this motor? It's definitely too dim. I should get a 5000K white in there and see if it at all makes a difference.
Thanks
