VIR looks fast with a lot of elevation changes.
Pocono looks very blah - that is one long straight.

Shenandoah - The rear straight concrete wall collasped. That's why we're driving 40 mph there.

Buttonwillow last Sunday, October 9th, with NASA HPDE 1/2. My fastest laps (not that fast) were in session 4, but my camera came loose and ended up filming the side of my helmet or a view out the back side windows towards the 2nd half of the session. Nice warm (hot) weather.

Need advice on how I could recover from my first spin out at ~3:00:

Yesterday was my first time soloing after about 10 track days. It was also the first time I was driving with DSC off (stated the day before).
My driving became sloppy from the get go without instruction but I was able to tidy that up by the end of the day.
So for the first 3 mins, I was missing Apexs late; which happened at turn 2. I think I was looking at the cone rather beginning my turn in before the cone.

From the vid - it looks like I tried to make the correction but I lost it. I don't particularly remember what my throttle and brake inputs were at the time.

What should I have done?

NJMP - Lightning

I don't think there is much you could have done (I'm only and intermediate, definitely no expert). It looks like you dropped your back left wheel into the dirt and lost traction. I have done that before and my instructor that there was not much I could have done.

The spin was totally avoidable. You dropped off the left edge of the track while the steering wheel was turned slightly to the right. You may have also been on the gas. With more experience, you would have known you were going to run out of track after missing the apex by a car width or more. If you know you are going off, straighten the steering before leaving the asphalt. Ease up on throttle or brake inputs until the car has slowed and settled in the grass/weeds/dirt.

^Thanks for the info. I just emailed my instructor about why I had spun that day and he said it was because I had put too much power down on the cement runoff which was still wet from the rain earlier in the day. So it was completely avoidable. Doh!

Thanks. For that turn, I set the front end by tapping on the brakes and gradually apply throttle for the next series of turns (3-4). I missed the apex by a large amount. Thinking about it, I may have lifted off the throttle rather that feather off which can cause the spin?

Going to Limerock this weekend so hopefully I'd be able be able to make a better adjustment.

Abruptly lifting off the throttle will transfer weight off the back tires which can certainly contribute to a spin as well. With enough experience, you will know at turn in where you will end up at track out allowing you to adjust throttle/brake and steering even earlier.

LRP has a lot less runoff in some areas so be careful. Discuss what you learned at the last event with your instructor and he or she can help you concentrate on visualizing your turn in, apex, and track out points. I once had an instructor ask me to talk constantly while on track to describe what I was doing, including when I thought I missed my various points. This showed him I knew exactly where I was, when I was offline, and what I was doing to adjust my inputs and line.

One more thing...

When you spin, both feet in. Apply the brake and push the clutch to the floor until you have stopped. The clutch application keeps the engine from spinning backwards if the car starts rolling backwards. The brakes keep your car from rolling in an odd direction, such as into oncoming traffic, if the car suddenly gains traction.

Three videos from NASA HPDE 1/2 last weekend at Buttonwillow. Dry Saturday, wet Sunday. Again I'm not fast, but I'm learning the line and sloooowly getting faster.

Saturday 4th session, dry track

Sunday 3rd session, rainy and wet with puddles

Sunday 4th session, sunny but still damp
