Street Trim - LSB E46 M3

I don't venture out of the FI section to often but I decided while my car is down for some upgrades and the completion of its 'Drag Trim' I would post up my first 'showroom thread' .. the car may not be to everyone's tastes but I think i've found a pretty good balance. Thanks!

Car was originally a Stage 3 HPF. Then converted to ProEFI to run E85 Flex Fuel... along with a new E85 compliant fuel system. It currently makes a little over 800rwhp on pump E85.

(Eek.. really should clean those before doing closeup's! )

The car is very deciving.. sure.. I wouldn't call it a sleeper by any means but hidden under that 100% oem body (with the exception of the 1piece lip) is moton suspension, dss axles, solid mounts, sp arms, turner camber plates, ground control sway bars, and an os giken differential.

Looks awesome! Saw the photo of your car and your X5 on ADV1's FB page. So cool.

But damn. This looks so sketchy... The piece of metal jutting out of your rollcage by the B pillar...

haha so ballin! I'm jealous for sure.

What model recaro's are those, and what made you decide on those seats? I am looking for some racing seats but want to lean towards some that are DD friendly, but provide great support on the track.

Thats for the removable door bars. You can see the door bar on the other side. I really didn't like the idea of a cage in a car I drive on the street, mainly because of safety reasons.. but also the annoyance of the door bars .. so I made them removable.

Recaro Pole Positions.... which are surprisingly comfortable.

Ohhh ok that makes sense.

Yeah that's why I don't have a full cage and just a 4 point.

Unfortunately for drag racing you need a forward bar AND door bar. I would have preferred a 4 point as well.

Wow. That's insane. Especially considering we're hitting higher speeds than most of you guys are on most tracks.

I agree, I think drag racing is far less dangerous then road racing and has many more variables.. yet drag racing has such over the top safety requirements like needing to certify your seat belts every 2 years as opposed to 5.. FULL roll cages for a 11 second car (which is fast but not THAT fast)..

Yeah, the car has certainly had its fair share of bumps along the road.. been through a tranny, clutch and motor in under 4k miles.. but I think my bad lucks behind me. Hoping I'll get everything perfected on it by summer and just bought a Canon 7D per Gheybe's recommendation.. so I'm going to make some video of it as wel!
