I think the ixu24's are too hot for the higher hp s54 applications. Also depends on your ignition system and type of coils used.

That does sound rich. Although I'm not a stg 2.5, my car is 13.5-13.8 at idle

My car also idles below 14, pretty much the same as yours. I don't see any problems with that. We bumped it up to 14.5ish and the car just didnt like it for some reason. It was running very odd when trying to take off.

Edit: Nevermind. Saw it in an earlier post.

Just ordered the IXU27's and had them overnighted. I'm going to give them a shot, I can't be spending $250/mo on NGK R's..

Ixu27 just like Taz, as I said before I used what you have now but they did the same thing. However they might be what you need or work for you if you dont run so rich, your idle seems rich if its in the 12's all the time.

Im pretty sure its obvious the IXU27's are the way to go! Our cars are very sensitive with everything though, changing plugs will be a regular thing.

Thanks Taza. I'm totally fine w/that but I felt 1000mi between plugs was just a little much when the plugs are 250.

Ya with the ixu27's you should get more then 1000 miles, it depends alot on your driving style as well. Ive replaced them only once after 4-5k miles or so of lots of race gas driving.

I don't know how you guys drive but I occasionally well get on it a bit getting onto the freeway etc.. but otherwise I drive like a normal person. Maybe thats why these plugs were fouling, that and I'm pretty sure I'm running a little rich.

I'm going to take the car out here for a 75mi journey to San Francisco.. I'll be monitoring my AFR's etc

Are you doing the drive before or after the new IXU27's?

I drove my car quite sensibly for most of my trip down the west coast...1000miles or so...but I have different plugs than you.

So here's my results of driving with my NGK R R2525-10's.. (and my possibly rich tune)

AFR's @ Cold Idle - high 10's low 11's..
AFR's @ Warn Idle - 12.5 roughly..
WOT from about 3k - 5k .. generally 12's/11's..
Crusing the highway in 5th or 6th around 3k.. generally high 13's..

I've got the new plugs on the way, won't be here until tomorrow though.

Even while spraying I run these, but it's the 01's that have non protruding tips that protect them. Plasma coils.

Im not sure for stage 3, but all those AFR's seem off.

Warm idle seems too rich. The rest is ok.
