Help! Non stock projector headlights

I boughts some non stock projector headlights off of ebay. They look nice in the day, but at night its not so well. The headlights seem like they are shining the ground instead of the road ahead. I have HIDs and my headlights should illuminate the whole road 30ft far but all i see is my headlights shining the ground 10ft far. When i took out the headlight and looked inside the projector slot and saw a piece of something in there. It looked like a horizontal piece of plastic. Im thinking that it should try and break that piece of plastic, but i dont want to do anything that i will regret. I want opinions on what to do. Thank you.

Hangon a sec ... so you pulled the PROJECTOR apart?? If that's what you did DO NOT break that bit of plastic

Check the E-bay listing again, does it say HID or Xenon??

I'm the idiot who read and tried to understand this post .....

These forums work better when the original poster states the resolution to his problem.

"Got it" doesn't do it.

I don't want to start arguments, but for anyone reading who wants to buy projector headlights GET OEM.

I dunno, now that I have stock HID's in my current car, I would not hesitate to slap genuine FXR's into the stock set up. The light projection quality is way, way better. That said, I won't bother retrofitting until the stock projectors degrade, which does happen with these junk/plastic projectors.
