Summer Mods Opinions PLease!!
Hello Fanatics,
With summer starting up and having some extra cash lying around Im ready for my round 2 of mods. CAr 04 325ci 60k on the clock Pics below After spending 1500 dollars for inspection 2 all new pads /rotors 2 new tires and new front LCABs my maintenance should be done for a year ![]() Im looking to spend between 1000 to 2000 dollars on mods this summer. What Ive done to the car so far: Exterior Chrome tips Shadow line matte black vinyl window trim carbon fiber license plate frames carbon fiber pillar overlays 35% tint all way around Interior: hardwired radar detector, garmin gps pdc homelink silver gauge rings black floor mats ^ All small things so far at this point What Im considering: SOUND! big thing is sound. I am looking for a sportier sound that does not break the bank and no rasp. No ***** more m3 like any ideas for exhaust set up? Thinking of intake ( bmw perf or afe) and muffler delete or do just a cat back exhaust NO HEADERS. Exterior: painted reflectors should I bother with wheel spacers? (not changing rims since I just bought 2 new tires) mtech 2 bumper?? angel eyes tinted tail lights (would this look to tacky?) Interior: Thinking of replacing the wood trim (carbon fiber wrap?) ideas?? Getting black shift and e brake boots, weighted zhp knob maybe 2 tone the doors black and tan Music: toss up between shelling out for the dynavin v5 (still researching) or Dice media bridge thinking of getting a dedicated sub (want a small 10 inch to put in ski pass) or upgrade to harmon kardon speakers? (is it worth it?) Obviously cant do this all with only 2 g's but these are ideas im toying with. HELP OUT FANATICS! What would you do with 2 g's and my car?? sorry for the long post |

Top on my list would be mtech 2, weight zhp knob (makes a huge difference) and interior trim wrapped. But to each their own! It's your car!

For the exhaust I'd get a universal magnaflow and have a shop whip something up. It'll give you the sound you're looking for and keep costs down.
Spacers I'd say yes since OEM wheels look great on a modded car when pushed out a bit. No on the tails, you have a clean look right now and the tint would cheapen the look of your car IMO. A drop will do wonders to a cars look. Doesn't have to be anything drastic but a little lower would look great and sportier. GL

HK speakers are more the enough. I have the stock cheapo speakers with paper cones and they sound amazing after I swapped out my deck for a Kenwood (KIV-BT900). For sub, I'd go with an Alpine Type R 10-inch, in a nice roomy box. Its a great balance of SPL and SQL. Honestly, I'd swap the rims though. Maybe paint the calipers silver.. A nice exhaust wouldn't hurt, but I'm not convinced on the muffler delete. Too many of those videos made the BMW sound like a 20 year old Beretta to me. |

New swim trunks, tan, and a cooler for beer. With the money you should be good to go. Gym membership is also good for summer.

If you dont want headers then you can try a muffler delete. Magnaflo would be one step above the muffler delete, if you dont like it.
New wheels made a huge difference on my car Get some Apex ARC-8's ![]() M3 lip spoiler adds another angle that I really like ZHP weighted does make a huge difference... Do you want performance or visual?

![]() I don't have the HK speakers either, just a properly adjusted deck delivering 22w RMS to each speaker. If I wanted to, the volume could be cranked up to max without any distortion thanks to the deck's built in crossover. Since you want to install a subwoofer, I can't justify the investment in HK speakers. The HKs deliver more bass, but for your application all that bass should be routed to the sub, using your stock speakers as mids/highs. |
