Mike confirmed he has a manifold for higher boost applications.

We pressure tested the stock manifold to over 10psi with no failure. I can't say every manifold will do the same, however we have options. We have a CNC'd intake plenum flange already made along with a pile of fab components if the stock plenum decides to give out. I also plan on carbon fiber wrapping stock plenum as another possible option.

This wouldn't help if the failures originate at the white plastic trumpets inside the manifold (as is rumored to be the case from AA's early testing)

I will have to talk to Karl. Either way, that would just be a small hurdle to cross. I was trying to minimize components to keep the pricing lower, however if we have to replace the intake we will.

M3 intake is different, it's only designed to seal not hold a pressure differential like most cars intakes.

But besides that, it's a little silly to do more then just mention it since making a new manifold is easy.

It's an e46 M3 intake in question...

We have run 30+psi on other plastic bmw intakes. The E46 M3 is no doubt more fragile in design to a E36 M3 manifold.

We are still keeping several options open. If someone is planning on keeping a "stage 1" setup running low boost and pump gas, and we can keep the kit price down by another thousand dollars, I figured it's a good option to explore. We are clearly capable of offering the kit with an aluminum plenum.

Running the stock e46 m3 IM is pretty bootleg if you ask me. However, if someone doesn't want to ever turn the boost up- I guess it IS a cheap way to get things done. If I like the offering on the rest of the kit I'll most likely step up to the plate but bring my own turbo and intake mani's (hpf). I think one of the nicest features of your kit from what I can tell is the turbo selection which doesn't require oil cooling. I'm a fan of keeping things simple and if you can eliminate possible points of failure then that's a good thing.

Mike if we were to run race gas does the car need different tune or we could just up the boost and drive like E36 OEM ECU tuned cars?

Also are you gonna offer the stage 2 with WI or Methanol?

Thanks

MJ

Thanks Mike. After you release all the details I'll most likely stop by your shop sometime so we can talk in person- as long as you guys are sometimes there on sat/sun-days.

Even though I have no real interest in FI, I'm really excited for this setup. Glad to see a company doing it right, and should be good for the platform overall!

Which is why you're viewing the subforum specifically dedicated to FI. Makes sense.

This is where I definitely don't agree with you guys.

I have a great interest in guns. I think they are cool. I love watching documentaries on sniping and other stuff like that.
Would I ever buy one? No.

So by your logic, I should cancel my Cable.

"Makes sense".
