Another (Different?) HID Flickering Problem

I've searched flickering hid problems on here and cant seem to find exactly what is wrong with mine. I recently bought a 2001 325ci from a friend. He had put M3 hid headlights in it. (hid low beam, h7 high beam) The only issue they have ever had is, of course, the bulb out warning. To get rid of this I bought and installed a set of in line resistors. Once the resistors were installed i noticed that when i start my car, or turn it the key to the start postition, the HID lights flicker. WITH the head light switch OFF. One thing to pint out is that the bulbs are old and needing to be changed, which i am getting to next. But is there anything i need to know or is it jsut pick whcih is less annoying, flickering lights every start or bulb warning? Also does the flickering of the bulbs cause any damage or wear to the bulbs? And one more, unrealated question, the day time running lights were coded to not run. is it possible to have them switched to go on when the light switch is on parking lights only? right now they do not come on at all, with parking lights or headlights.

btw, they just flicker for a couple seconds then remain off until switched on, when they do not flicker at all.

I'm not sure what models this works on, but I removed fuse 32 and my oem xenons don't flicker or give me "bulb out" warnings. Car originally came with halogens. My car is a MY 2000, was built in 1999.

Could this work with Bi-Xenons?
