OBX Exhaust Input? (for a ZHP)

Just searching around on eBay and I came across an OBX Cat Back exhaust. I searched and can't find any reviews. Does anyone know about or have this exhaust. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

From what I've seen, OBX stuff is actually pretty quality, especially for the price. The name doesn't carry the prestige like the bigger names do though.

Are there any gains to be had with the OBX catbacks? It looks like a good candidate to be added to my cheap n/a gains thread.

Someone is gonna have to dyno the OBX: before & after. My guess is it does make more HP, 2-3WHP. The one thing that is measurable is OBX tube diameter is 2", Magnaflow is 2.25"/2.5", definitely more flow.

Hmm, ya thanks for that pipe diameter spec. I'm not sure it makes it the best guinea pig opportunity.

What's a "muddler" ?

Anyway, that OBX picture is most likely a "stock" photo; one photo for all vehicles.

If I were on a budget, I'd give it a try.

I put an OBX on my 325i just because i was on a budget and it sounds really good and you can see the tips come out and see the muffler if you look around. Wasn't much of a hp boost but still great for the price. Ill post pictures later

Great thread. I was considering the same. I plan on having my daughter's clutch replaced and was considering getting the OBX cat-backs installed at the same time.

When you get your Bimmer back, please give us a 30 second or more clip.

Varying RPM's & so on.

Thanks.

My Ride: gets DRIVEN.
Send a message via AIM to Activ3
I had the OBX exhaust from the headers up to my rear AA muffler (so I basically used the OBX front x pipe and second resonator). It's a direct copy of the supersprint non-m exhaust system. I ran it for almost 70k miles, and it developed multiple cracks around the x-pipe and resonator. However, my car was making 300+ whp at the time so it was flowing much more than a regular non-m. I've also cracked the eBay headers at the collector before, and have since switched to a full legit exhaust system. For the $$ you can't beat the OBX, but if you're making any sort of power I'd just leave the stock midsection, change the rear muffler, and add headers.
