No brainer but...

No brainer but be sure to check that your power steering pump pully bolts are tight (or even, all still there). The will cause a loud tapping noise! Lesson learned on my behalf.

My Cardone rebuilt LF30 still works great and car is a pleasure to drive since I installed it just over a year ago. I keep an eye on the ATF fluid in the reservoir and plan to do the turkey baster flush. Next is to check and likely RENEW the ATF lifetime fluid in the autotmatic Steptronic transmission. BMW says its lifetime fluid ... and they will be happy to put in a renew transmission rather than just renew the fluid. Only problem is renewing fluid (Castrol meet specs) for $30-200 is better than renewing transmission at $7000-10000.
