Angry My "Magic" top auto down problem

Hey guys,

I saw this problem a couple times, with no solutions. Hopefully someone knows now.

Once in a while, my windows go down and then the top goes down---all by itself. Then the windows roll back up, but top stays down.

I'm guessing a loose or pinched wire somewhere.
It's hurricane season here in Florida...so my luck this will happen when the next one comes through.

It's completely random when it happens. I thought it did it when I didn't lock the doors, but it happened today when I was doing yard work.

I heard the doors unlock, then windows came down, then top, then windows back up.

Any ideas?! Thanks!!

I'm going to inspect the wires tomorrow using this thread's help:

But just wanted to see if there was another solution before I do.

did somebody press the unlock button on key, then press and hold the button? If so, that is normal if it has been programmed to let you do that.

No, the keys were on the counter and this has happened numerous times on its own.
Also, I believe the unlock feature is for the windows only, not the top, right?

I believe I have read the top can be coded to go down via the key. The key in the lock cylinder held to unlock will also lower the top as well as the button on the console. I'd guess the lock cylinder or wiring to. I think the cvm will store a code if the console button is held, not sure about a code if the lock cylinder is held. Hope this is of some help

If it was not somebody playing a trick on you, then shift4 identified two obvious places to look. But it could be almost anywhere since I think the top is controlled by one of the buses (K-bus maybe). If you have anything aftermarket (stereo?) I'd look at how it was installed. An intermittent problem like this is going to be hard to diagnose . . . good luck
Here is a thought - you could raise the top storage compartment in the truck, at least if you expected rain - this should prevent the top from opening

Its called a door lock actuator they go bad then act as if your holding the key in the unlock position thus opening your windows and dropping the top.

Oh also leave the top storage area in the trunk up it won't allow it to happen at least piece of mind till you change the actuator
