We've hit an era of uncertainty where no one give a sh!t about anything anymore. How many recessions have we neared/went through recently?

Explain to me why you can't post in the correct forum.

Think about it over the weekend.

This chart is inaccurate and it is meaningless in its present form.

The horizontal and vertical axis are not properly named.
We don't even know what is being represented.

The vertical axis goes from 10 at the top to minus 12 at the bottom. It should go from 15 to negative 15

And the right axis goes from 55 to 115. It should go from 0 to 120 or 125.
What happened to zero ?

And the horizontal axis measures a fifteen year period with no delineation between years.

The graph dimensions are not properly represented.

I think it is worthless.

UoM consumer confidence index measure likeliness for people to spend their money based on market conditions, retail sales YOY measures % in change of retail sales from one year to the next.

But yeah, as Raymond mentioned, the chart could be better labeled/charted out.

Looks like we've been on a downward trend since the 2000 election, and with the different bailouts and market crash in/around 2008 we are still trying to recover. Now with the different environmental issues, world events, and S&P business, I doubt that the UoM consumer confidence index is going to increase anytime soon and we will likely find the retail sale YOY decreasing as well. Please note that those are just my predictions.

In simple terms: hold onto your gold.
