Question Cutting through exhaust piping w/ a Dremel...?

I need to cut off my stock muffler's piping to install a BMW Performance muffler --- can a Dremel do the job, or do I need to have an exhaust shop do it?

It can be done with a dremel but will be time consuming. If you're looking to DIY, you can use a hack saw or sawzall. The shop will use sawzalls

Gotcha, thanks.

Do you have to undo and drop the exhaust on a 325i, or is there room to cut through it while it's still on the car?

Use the heavy duty cut off wheel and you can do it, will just take a bit.

Op, you are thinking of a cut off wheel, which is not the same as a dremel. A dremel will chew up disks and take a lot of time.

OEM BMW Performance exhaust doesnt need to be welded.

It uses clamps, the pipes on the muffler are stretched a bit to fit into stock pipes and be tightened down with the supplied clamps.

If you dont have a sawzall, home depot rents these out. Over here it costs $20/day to rent a sawzall from home depot.

a grinder with a cutting disc will do it, a dremel will take forever
