Bi-Xenon Issue

So this issue comes and goes.

2003 330xi 154k

Once in a while I'll start my car and my passenger side headlight will be out. If I turn the lights off for a few seconds and back on it will usually turn back on no issue and it won't happen again for a couple weeks. I also notice that my lights don't immediately turn on when I start the car, they are usually delayed a few seconds, unlike on my 2004 330xi where I thought they turned on almost instantly.

Has anyone else ever had this issue and if so did you get to the bottom of it? I've seen some things that point to the ignitor. Just trying to figure it out. I have the lights from the old car still because it was wrecked so I may be able to use the ballasts/ignitors from them.

Thanks!

I've checked all of that. I'm also running 6k bulbs from Khoalty, think that could be an issue. I had a pair before that started to go bad, but they flickered then went out, these just go out, otherwise they are on fine and don't flicker.

Try doing this to the tail lights, fixed my flickering xenon issue.

Likely coincidence. Not sure how the tail light ground has anything to do with the headlights. People with OE LED tails also have experienced flickering xenons.

Slim chance its a coincidence, one night on my way to a friends my lights started giving a strobe show.

I remember reading to give that a try, we rigged that up in his driveway, they havent flashed since.

Give it a shot OP, or have you done it already.

because a bad ground affects like everything in your car (the cause doesn't have to be the tail light). having a bad ground is the hardest thing to track down.
