Weird smell when I start the A/C

It blows a weird smell when I start the A/C and goes away after 10-15sec. I put a activated carbon microfiber filter and nothing, same thing.
Any ideas?

I know the problem :
1st you didnt use the search feature
2nd Did you clean your air vents
3rd You just got the ac refilled prolly on your own and it needs to be recharged because it prolly hasnt been on for awhile

...and turn off AC about 5-10 mins. before you stop the car. That will reduce the amount of moisture you have in your evaporator box and thus reduce the food bacteria/mold growing in there.

Search 'dirty sock smell' if that's what you're smelling. If you're not sure, just start a thread asking fanatics to send you their socks so you have a point of comparison.

Prolly? Sort of between a Trolley Car (see transit enthusiast) and absolute certainty.

There are AC cleaners in local auto stores. I found that by removing wires from inside a phone cord insulation, that the resultant tube fits perfectly on a can of lysol (with tip removed). You can then stick it into vents. I also sprayed through vents beneath the cabin air filter.

There's a diy on drilling a hole into evaporator to spray foam disinfectant directly...kind of frightens me to put a hole somewhere in car.

Mine was real bad, but the turning off 5-10 mins. before helps keep it dry and the smell has been much less.
