^ you can buy AA batteries at the $1 store.

Do you think the batteries in a flashlight battery are the same as Energizer or Duracell?

You can get a 36 pack of AA batteries from Amazon.com for ~$12.

Not the Coppertop.

16-count AA for $5.
The shipping costs more than the battery.

And anyone who uses alkalines is a fool!

I have 16 Eneloops I cycle through different devices. Much more performance and 1500 recharge cycles.

Eneloops (and any of the regular rechargeables) have their place in certain equipment.
But to say that they can replace alkalines is wrong, pure and simple.
For example, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to use rechargeables in a low drain clock.
Do more research.

There are degrees of what it can do. If you want it to solve the exact problem it's built to solve, at the problem sizes I tested, it's thousands of times faster than anything I'm aware of. If you want it to solve more general problems of that size, I would say it competes - it does as well as some of the best things I've looked at. At this point it's merely above average but shows apromising scaling trajectory."

agreed. rechargeables do not hold a charge like a non-rechargeable does.
They have lower voltage too.
