New wheels for dmax

I need two new 16 style 42 wheels...so they're $200 new...$140 reconditioned. I've bought reconditioned before and the color is never right on...unless I use them on the same side of the car...which I could 'maybe' do.

But, been seeing new wheels for $100 that aren't bad. Please guys...save me the searching. Which wheel brands are decent for 'cheap-ish'? Am I throwing money away on wheels that cost just $100 each? After 277,000 miles, guess it's time to give in...unless someone comes to me with style 42s!

I'm already washed up...I see how it is. Could someone tell me if Voxx wheels are any good?

i would just search around for some good used stockers to match up. going aftermarket on cheap wheels isn't such a good idea. often they are weak and the poor hub centric and bolt head pattern can cause vibrations.

or maybe it's time dmax goes with the old Ronal Bear wheels
sorry they don't come in Beagle

I don't know of any $100 (new) wheels that i'd recommend. But I have ESM's on my E30, and they're pretty damned cheap. They're relatively common in the E30 community. I've had them about a year, with regular trips to NYC, and I haven't bent one yet.

www.esmwheels.com

Maybe some LM reps (004)? I have the RS reps (002r) on my E30 in 16x8.

Style 68 is a nice wheel and I see them in sets of 4 for very little sometimes. Last time it was $250 for all 4.

Wheel Weight

Wheel style is so personal, its hard to recommend one. Tire Rack is one of the forum sponsors .. I would just make sure whatever you get that it is not too heavy or more than your stockers unless you are OK with losing some performance.

http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/ lists some but not all wheel weights for OEM's .. cheaper aftermarket wheels often weigh considerably more than OEM's but not always.

Get some style 68 or style 44. Or a nice e90 set. Craigslist should have some sets for you.

What did you hit?

Thanks for all the help, guys. I've hit many potholes in my time. Anyway, I have all my tires in 16, so not switching to 17s...don't care about gap at all. Reconditioned seems like the smartest thing to do at this point, but maybe I can carve a beagle into them!

Thanks again!

Takes the cake!

Dmax, if you like 16"s, Craigslist is full of style 45, I've seen a set for as low as $100 for 4 rims!

Lmao at some you here!

ECS is a great site sponsor! (The best IMO) they sell alzors! Tüv certified wheels for our cars! A full set goes for around 550 I believe.

Fyi I also have a set of style 43's sitting around they could use reconditioning i'll let them go for $200 if u're interested.

My boo drive that phat ride

I put the little squares on the fender because venting the fenders is important and if you can't do it for real with some class. At least you should fake it so people don't judge

Damn...I just ordered two used wheels from bmrparts...

I would have taken you up on the style 43s...that's if they're not that bad. If they're 'that' good, please PM me right away and maybe I can stop the order I just placed. I need 4 balanced wheels.

Take a look at Tire Rack. They have Rial wheels which use BMW center caps, so they look like OEM, sort of. I only paid $120 each for my winter set.
