If you locate the vanos (end of the engine block, offset to the left), there is one solenoid clip in the upper right corner, and one in the lower left. The lower left is a @#$%%^ to get to without removing things. And mine is stuck. I have to say though, hitting every other connector under the hood, really seems to have helped. The hesitation and bucking is all but gone as well as the occaisional RPM revving between lower gear shifts. Also, my idle would "bounce" between 600 and 1000 rpms at a stand still. It is now perfectly steady at 600.
Only complaint now is I still feel like there should be more torque/acceleration, for a BMW 6 cyl. I say that, but I don't have any other BMW experience to compare it to, but it seems to lack the pop that it should have. I'm nit picking here though, the ride is smooth for the most part. |

I did this a couple days ago. Didn't cure a damn thing when it comes to my acceleration surge/bucking issue. I'm replacing the fuel pump also to see if it cures it.

For example, I had done it to every single connector minus the ICV connector because I was just lazy to take the DISA out. I went over that connector on the ICV today and it totally changed the way the car felt. Much smoother now and my MPG magically went up as well.

I don't remember but does anyone know if the connectors for the fuel injectors have the same internal design as the others? ![]() Or if it's similar to the TB connector.

Have you done your vanos?
Sounds like those symptoms and your car is certainly old enough.

i changed the plugs which had 98k miles on them and it solved these symptoms. *not saying this doesn't work, just suggesting to people who have tried this and it didn't help.

I'm about to do this for all the connectors in my M3 once I get the special tool to remove the intake box and I'll report back.

UPDATE:
Took the intake off and cleaned the ITB's as well as cleaned and re crimped all connectors ![]() I was experiencing some throttle lag, after the connector clean and crimp the lag is gone. So it's official crimping the connectors nets the same effect as on the non-m's. The connectors I re-crimped as per the procedure were the: -Coolant temp sensor -Oil temp sensor -ICV -EDK -Alternator -Other oil pressure switch -MAF -Lower hose coolant temp sensor -All the misc on top of the intake manifold and next to the brake booster -Crank sensor

Hey guys, in addition to cleaning the contacts, did anyone re-grease the seals of the connector (not the contacts) with white grease?!

I took out the injector harness on my M3 and noticed they too could benefit from this procedure. So if M3 harness connectors share the same non-m connectors then it would also help!
