Is anyone doing a Skyline drive this fall? (front royal VA)

Every time I've gone during the fall for the past decade or so it's nothing but bumper to bumper traffic

Moved back to ma but considered making a trip down there just for this ride. It was awesome last year

I go down there around thanksgiving for hiking. There is no one there, can drive as fast as you want, and hike without running into someone every 5 minutes. It is a glorious time. But, well past the prime of turning leaves.
