Cars get written off pretty easily in the insurance business because it would simply not be worth it to have it fixed. A blown airbag or two, damaged suspesion, damaged quarter panel, boom you already have a $25,000 dealer job. You get the idea.

If that engine could be converted to OBD1 I'd love to put it in my E30, but it would probably snap the rear differential and axles like potato chips!!!
